Evan Johnson,
MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker ·
Trauma & Anxiety Specialist · Relationships & Identity Expert
Some experiences leave a mark that doesn't fade on its own. The memories that resurface uninvited. The sense that who you were before doesn't quite match who you are now. The anxiety that has no clear explanation but never fully goes away.
But it isn't always one defining moment that brings someone to therapy. Sometimes it's a pattern — the same argument on repeat, the feeling that your needs never quite get met, the relationships that follow a script you didn't choose and can't seem to rewrite. The version of yourself at work or at home that doesn't feel like enough, or doesn't feel like you.
Evan works with adults navigating all of it — past trauma, anxiety, identity, and the relational patterns that shape how we show up for ourselves and the people around us. He helps clients understand where those patterns come from, communicate more honestly, get their needs met without conflict or collapse, and build relationships — with others and with themselves — that actually feel good to be in.
His approach is direct, compassionate, and grounded in the evidence — because feeling heard matters, and so does actually getting better.
He is currently accepting new clients and welcomes the opportunity to connect.
Treatment Approach
Evan brings a genuine passion for trauma work and a clinical depth that is rare. He holds a Master of Social Work degree and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience treating trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, identity disturbance, and life transitions across a wide range of adult presentations.
His approach begins where all good therapy begins — with safety. Before anything else, Evan focuses on building a space where clients feel genuinely heard, in control, and ready to do the work at their own pace. Clients frequently tell him they've achieved things they didn't think were possible. That feedback is not accidental — it reflects a clinical style that balances warmth with directness, and compassion with accountability.
A note on Identity Disturbance
Identity disturbance — the experience of feeling unsure of who you are, inconsistent in how you show up, or disconnected from a stable sense of self — is often misunderstood and underserved. It frequently co-occurs with trauma, anxiety, and significant life transitions, and it can make daily functioning feel exhausting in ways that are hard to articulate.
Evan has specific experience in this area. If you've struggled to find a therapist who truly understands this dimension of your experience, this may be the right fit.
